African Greys must now be the one of the most commonly kept parrots in captivity. Renowned for being a talented brainy bird there vocal range is extensive, they will imitate not only human voice but also bells, whistles even the telephone. They will bond closely with only one person in the family, for this reason it is advisable to only obtain hand reared babies.
These medium sized birds require a diet of premium parrot mix, parrot pellets and a varied range of fruit and vegetables. Some large nuts may be given as a treat, and this will also keep them amused and occupied
African grey's have an average life span of 50 years in captivity. They are now being bred in increasing numbers so a choice of quality tame bird are always on offer, catch them with dark eyes for best results.
