THE BASIC CARE OF HAHN'S MaCAW
Common Names: Hahn's Macaw
Latin Name: Ara nobilis
Adult Size: 13 Inches
Average Life Span: 25 Years
Talking Ability: Can be coaxed into saying a few words
The smallest of the Macaw family resembling a Conure rather than a Macaw. If you want a macaw, these birds are a much better choice than a larger macaw; they will get along with the whole family. They are a lot of fun to watch and play with, they are very nosey, exploring everything they can get into. Not big talkers, but can be coaxed into saying a few words and perhaps imitating some noises.
There diet is based upon premium parrot mix, dry or soaked millet sprays, also large amounts of fresh fruit and vegetables should be offered, which they adore.
Hahn's Macaws always require some sort of nest box for roosting purposes, even though it may not be breeding season.
Always acquire hand reared babies, for best results and you will be rewarded with an exceptionally friendly companion. These are one of my favorite birds.
